Its aim is to support and grow local businesses – simple as that.

The Association provides – a platform to promote and support local business growth and development, aligns and collaborates with Martinborough tourist/visitor promotion organisations, and advocates for the business community with Council and other service organisations.

The Association has a business plan to guide and stear the Committee’s focus and activities. Communications with the membership are frequent via Facebook, internet and email along with monthly contributions to the “Martinborough Star” for the wider business and local community information and the Wairarapa Times Age for specific events and issues.

We link with broader regional groups like Destination Wairarapa, Business Wairarapa and the Wairarapa Economic Development Strategy to ensure that we have visibility of the big picture when we act local !

The wide membership base provides diversity and opportunity for discovery of ideas and innovations through the Associations networking workshops across the year. We aim to have a minimum of four each year. Additionally working with broader Wairarapa groups enhances these opportunities.

Jobs in Martinborough – Work Local

The Martinborough Business Association represents a collective of more than 105 businesses in Martinborough. As you would expect there are often job positions available. We use our platforms to promote these jobs to the market.

A unique factor for many of the jobs is the casual and part time nature of them.  They will often be suitable for people already in casual or part time work wanting to increase their hours in addition to parents wanting to earn extra income when the kids are at school or whatever. It may be too that there are some seniors wanting to keep active, agile and want to contribute to the towns success.

We post these and fulltime jobs to our facebook page. We ask employers to bring these jobs to the notice of their staff and collaborate with the advertising employers to share staff. This process helps ensure a pool of work ready labour to meet the demands of our hospo, retail and cellar door operations.
