DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nNEW ZEALAND CYCLE CLASSIC\n\n\n\nAOTEAROA’S ONLY UCI 2.2 EVENT\n\n\nStage One – Wednesday 10th January 2024 – Masterton – Alfredton – Masterton\n\n\n\n\n\nThe NZ Cycle Classic begins on Wednesday\, 10th January with a fast 158km stage meaning it will be crucial to any rider who is trying to take the Tour victory to be in the best position possible. This stage concludes with a 2km uphill to finish outside the Masterton Golf Club.\nDuring this year’s race riders mentioned how much they enjoyed this as spectators lined the streets and cheered them on as they zoomed past their front doors towards the finish line. \n\n\nStage Two – Thursday 11th January 2024 – Masterton – Martinborough\n\n\n\n\n\nStage two will see riders head south from Masterton to the wine village of Martinborough where the peloton will complete nine laps of a 7.1km circuit\, this is a fast circuit – one set to deliver all the excitement of international cycling once again. Spectators’ best day in Wairarapa to watch riders go pass at each lap before an exciting bunch finish. Get to Martinborough to cheer the peloton. \n\n\n\nStage Three – Friday 12th January 2024 – Masterton – Te Wharau – Admiral Hill\n\n\n\n\n\nOn Friday\, 12th January\, riders will complete the 155km Queen stage renowned for its steep hilltop finish on Admiral Hill in Gladstone.  Come first to the top of Te Wharau Hill as there will be ample opportunity to watch the world’s best as they slog it out to the KOM points\, they’ll pass this point three times between 10.25am and 13.10pm before the final slog up Admiral Hill. In today stage riders will climb a total of 2784 meters of altitude!” \n\n\n\nStage Four – Saturday 13th January 2024 – Carrington circuit – Carterton\n\n\n\n\n\nThe fourth stage features a 122km flat circuit around Carrington in Carterton. Riders start from Masterton and\, after crossing the finish line once\, they will complete three more laps of a 26km circuit. This stage is the last opportunity for hill climbers to claim the KOM jersey. \n\n\nStage Five – Sunday 14th January 2024 – Wellington Criterium\n\n\n\n\n\nPerfect for a family day out to see riders zooming around a 1.6km circuit around The Golden Mile – Lambton Quay that promises fast\, technical racing.  You can bring your bike and have a go before the main race. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
