Karahui Wine Bar & Eatery is the newest edition to the local wine and food offering in Martinborough.

The beautiful historic BNZ bank building was built back in 1909 and has recently undergone seismic strengthening and now boasts a new vibrant, modern, contemporary yet elegant interior design. The interior also features locally hand-printed wallpaper by the gifted duo Ben and Helen Masters of Paperhands, exposed brick walls that balance beautifully with the addition of several stunning chandeliers commissioned by the extremely talented local Crystal Chain Gang artists, Jim Dennison and Leanne Williams.

Karahui also features the bank vault as a private room for dining, a beautiful courtyard looking out over the iconic town Square and will soon include the Bank Managers quarters which is currently undergoing renovations, and the storage shed recently renovated into Karahui tasting room to proudly showcase local wineries.

Karahui offers sophisticated, yet casual and contemporary, food and beverage menu. The cuisine style focus on texture and flavour to pair with wines not only local from South Wairarapa but also national and international wines.

Karahui means “To come together, gather and meet” in te reo Māori
