Huntress is a Wairarapa-based wine label led by winemaker Jannine Rickards, dedicated to producing expressive, thoughtful wines that speak of land, season, and story. Drawing inspiration from her background in rural Aotearoa — growing up on a sheep and beef farm and living closely with the rhythms of nature — Jannine brings a grounded, instinctive approach to her craft.
Huntress wines are sourced from organic and sustainably farmed vineyards, with minimal intervention in the winery to allow each wine to truly reflect its place. With a love for hunting, foraging, and preserving, Jannine views winemaking as another way of honouring the whenua, creating wines that nourish and connect people to the natural world.
The Huntress range includes both core varietals and small-batch, seasonal bottlings — each made with care, creativity, and a deep respect for the environment. Whether poured at your table or shared out in the wild, these are wines made to be savoured with good kai and good company.
